Showbiz Queenstown has a proud legacy of delivering top-quality performances to the Whakatipu area and beyond that spans over 40 years.
Each year, their productions captivate audiences and contribute significantly to the local arts scene. By working with talent of all ages and experience levels, they ensure that the arts continue to flourish in the region.
Volunteers play a crucial role in Showbiz Queenstown’s success with around 60 - 70 cast and crew dedicating countless hours to bring each production to life.
We take every opportunity we can to nurture and mentor members all of ages to reach their full potential. With connections to local schools and other creative groups, we're committed to making Queenstown's arts community a place of cooperation over competition.
CLT has proudly backed a number of their productions, including Avenue Q in 2020, Legally Blonde the Musical in 2021 and most recently, Spamalot – a musical comedy based on the classic film Monty Python and the Holy Grail in 2024.
In 2025, Showbiz is tackling the Stephen Sondheim masterpiece Into the Woods, with auditions set to take place later this year. This promises to be another stellar addition to Showbiz’s impressive body of work, growing the performing arts in the region.
